The Welfare Association Of the Visually Handicapped was established on 16th March 1994. It was registered under the Indian Societies Act with the registration Number 381/1994. The pioneers of educated Visually Handicapped friends started this association to cater the needs of thousands of Blind Men and women . The area of operation is extended to the entire state of Andhra Pradesh

The unique character of the Association has lies in fact that it is an organization of the Blind by the blind and for the blind with a view to promote self reliance and self confidence among the blind people by undertaking the schemes and projects with assistance and co-operation of the Government as well as the Society.

During the last two decade the Association has adopted multiple strategies to serve the visually handicapped. Approximately 60 inmates of rehabilitation center for the blind women were provided jobs in Government sector. A number of Disabled persons were given counseling and guidance for their overall development. To extend the services Some important projects are planned for execution.
