Objectives

The Main Objectives of WAVH

To strive for equal opportunities for the blind in their education, training and employment.
To stimulate the provision of remunerative employment for the blind in all occupations which they can successfully perform.
To make use of modern technology applicable to their lives.
To provide equalization of opportunities in every field in the competitive world.
To serve the visually Handicapped persons, deaf and dumb, Orthopedically Handicapped and also mentally retarded and to arrange medical treatment from the available clinics for curable diseases.
To provide counseling and guidance with experienced persons to the parents of blind persons to take proper care and protection to their children’s and make them to use available services from the Government and Voluntary Organization etc., which are working for their upliftment.
To take special care to bring the most neglected section of Adult Women among the Visually Handicapped into society to have a honorable and dignified life in the society and to encourage the Visually Handicapped people by taking necessary financial assistance.
To encourage and arrange marriage between disabled and normal persons to have a happy family life for those interested and to arrange scholarships to encourage meritorious students among the Visually Handicapped.
To give awards, certificates to the best “Employer” who provides good number of jobs to the visually handicapped in their establishment and also give certificates and also give awards to the best Visually Handicapped employees for their outstanding performance in their profession.
To provide consultant agency services to the disabled persons to solve their problems by acting as an agent between Voluntary Organization and to so all such other things which will help the attainment of objects of the Association.
The Organization is planning to provide a quarterly Braille magazine.
